The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) is tackling the most pressing problems facing Los Angeles with a mission to improve education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos. Bigger than baseball, LADF envisions a city where everyone regardless of ZIP code has the opportunity to thrive. LADF was reimagined in 2013 and has since raised over $90 million and is on track to raising $100 million in 2023. In the last decade, LADF has invested more than $53 million in our programs and grants to local organizations and impacted more than 9.8 million youth. LADF is the proud recipient of ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year, Robert Wood Johnson Sports Award, Beyond Sport's Sport for Reduced Racial Inequalities Collective Impact Award, and the Aspen Institute Project Play Champion.
Position
The LADF Associates Program is designed to further support the mission of LADF by assisting with the foundation’s work across all of its functional areas: development, programs and operations. Associates actively engage with the local community and expand the reach of the organization’s impact throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
The LADF Associates Program is a highly competitive, paid, year-long program designed to provide college and graduate students with both professional and personal development in a nonprofit sports team foundation setting. Alongside LADF's staff, Associates work across all LADF’s departments, gaining insight into its programs, development, and operations activities.

Please note that the 2024 Associates Program will be in-person and will follow all LA County health and safety guidelines.
This is a part-time position.
Title: Associates
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Responsibilities:
Associates will specialize in one of the three departments listed below based on schedule and expertise:
- Development
- Operations
- Programs
Simultaneously, Associates will become familiar with the work of the Los Angeles Dodgers and expand their network across various departments within the Dodgers organization and be provided networking opportunities.
Some examples of how LADF Associates will contribute to each department are noted below.
Development Associates
- In-Stadium Fundraising - Support all fundraising activities associated with in-stadium activity to include the 50/50 raffle, retail (set up/breakdown, reconciliation, inventory updates), ribbon board messages, and stadium campaigns.
- Fundraising Events - Support for fundraising events including: Blue Diamond Gala (event prep, set up/breakdown, event support); LADF Run (booth/expo coordination, vendor liaison, event support).
- Donor Management – support activity related to the solicitation, cultivation and retention of corporate, foundation and individual donors.
Operations Associates
- General Operations - Support the effective management of an organization through its core operational functions: finance and accounting; legal; risk management; human resources; IT, evaluation & impact and systems. Support on Marketing & Communications and Evaluation & Impact as assigned.
- Marketing & Communications - Support the development of marketing collateral, website maintenance, aid in crafting social media strategies and campaigns, take and catalogue photos, track KPI’s and social media support.
- Evaluation & Impact - Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for LADF. Assist in researching current data and trends, and maintaining LADF data results, quotes, and stories for storytelling.
Program Associates
- Grantmaking & Initiatives - Assist with all aspects of grantmaking, including grant administration (correspondence, database management, check requests, inventory/request sheet updates, filing, data management), grant cycle support (site visits and follow ups to prospective grantees), grantee activation support (event prep, set up/break down, fulfillment, special events), marketing and research.
- Support grantee initiatives, including LA Reads, In This Together, Science of Baseball and the College and Career Accelerator.
- Dodgers Dreamfields - Support all aspects of the program, including monitor location reports, assist with upcoming Dodgers Dreamfields projects, support event preparation and logistics (groundbreakings, unveilings, field maintenance trainings, clinics), support existing field upgrades (field, scoreboard, signage maintenance), maintain tracking documents, evaluation and impact support, and monitor online application submissions.
- Dodgers Dreamteam – Support all aspects of the program, including support for Affiliate Partners, monitor program requirements, use the LeagueApps registration platform, provide Hello Insight Social Emotional Learning survey support, recruitment support (player, coach, and event promotion), conduct site visits, and support with events.
Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and skills in exercising sound judgement
- Must possess highly interpersonal skills and have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Must be proficient in Microsoft programs
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Phenomenal teammate with a willingness to help where required
- College and graduate students preferred
