The Foodservice Director of Sales, Northeast Area is responsible for key account development activities across the foodservice channel and leadership of the field sales team (3 Sales Account Managers and 3 Operator Specialists) including the national broker network and direct responsibility. The areas of sales focus will include: non-commercial, commercial, chain accounts, and distribution. Develop and manage the Northeast Area Field Sales strategy and relationships to ensure that the organization is aligned to key priorities and deliverables.
Create annual business plan for region and lead sales team execution against plan, track results vs goals, and create a customer/category strategy based on business trends.
Broker and direct responsibility within the region. Work with team to identify resource needs, go to market strategies and targets.
Accountable for financial management including trade budgets, P&L oversight, etc.
Evaluate short and long term goals to ensure resources are utilized to deliver against the overall company strategy
Collaborate with the internal support, external field sales teams and national broker network to set execution plans that deliver on strategic priorities.
Collaborate with marketing, pricing, insights, culinary, and operations to develop programs and offerings that deepen strategic customer relationships.
Support large leverage operators and regional multi-unit accounts within the Northeast Area customer base.
Participate in key corporate initiatives as either a team member or steering team member to ensure that these cross-disciple efforts meet corporate objectives.
Develop the field sales team members through the Clemens Food Group Performance Management process.
Serve as hiring manager for all direct reports as needed by selecting and evaluating individual candidates.
Serve as the primary point person for all Northeast Area related activities including but not limited to both fresh and value added business issues (i.e. service level, capacity and growth, pricing and contracts, credits and deductions, payment and terms).
Qualifications:
4 to 6 years' experience in Foodservice sales, with an emphasis on team leadership and management over sales responsibilities.
Knowledge of the foodservice business, and emerging channel dynamics is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and execute measurable and sustainable process improvement in a sales organization.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills and management presence; ability to present to senior management across the organization.
Strong project management and analytics skills.
Ability to excel in fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture.
Collaborative team player with service-orientation.
