Dean, College of Adult and Graduate Studies in coordination with the Dean, College of Arts and Sciences

Approximately 40-50 hrs. - 50% Chair, 50% Professor
POSITION SUMMARY:
This faculty member will serve as Director of Nursing Education for the School of Nursing, teaching responsibilities for both ASN and BSN courses online and in person.Professional and teaching excellence, a Christian lifestyle, and continued research in the field are expected. Instruction should be characterized by technology integration, innovation, student-centered learning, and an ability to engage industry in the classroom.
The Director functions as the chief administrator of the School and the primary liaison between the School, University administration, and the OKBON. Additional responsibilities include supervision of full-time faculty, strategic planning, budgeting, program assessment, advisement of students, and administrative duties related to the leadership of the School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and guide the Nursing Education program to achieve its stated goals and objectives, including obtaining and maintaining full accreditation
Assess, plan, and operate Program facilities
Prepare and implement the yearly strategic plan for the School
Prepare and administer the annual budget for the School
Evaluate and participate in determining admissions criteria and procedures for student retention
Recruit, hire, and assign full-time and adjunct faculty
Supervise full-time and part-time employees
Initiate and supervise the Program's in-service and faculty development
Provide classroom, laboratory, pre-clinical, and clinical instruction
Collaborate with curriculum personnel to ensure Program course curriculum is developed and maintained for currency, relevancy, and quality
Direct the assessment of the student learning for the School, including:
Compliance with MACU assessment policies and practices
Annual planning of assessment of student learning
Analysis of assessment data
Identification and implementation of interventions to address issues raised by assessment data
Regular reporting of assessment and intervention information to the appropriate stakeholders
Coordinate the scheduling of Nursing courses in collaboration with the Dean of the College of Adult & Graduate Studies
Coordinate the on-campus simulation and skill labs and off-campus clinical assignments
Provide academic and clinical student advisement
Address student and instructor issues
Serve on Program and Campus committees
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean of Adult and Graduate Studies
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Master's Degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse holding a valid, non-restricted license to practice in the state of Oklahoma
Two (2) years experience working as an RN and one (1) year teaching experience in a nursing education licensure program
Strong commitment to education, service, and professional growth in Nursing Science Education
Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong organizational and teaching skills
Ability to work as part of a team to coordinate and support programs within the School and University
Adherence to the Christian mission and policies of the University
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Doctoral degree, most preferably in nursing
A record of effective academic, administrative experience and successful collaboration with external partners
Experience or familiarity with the nursing school accreditation process (OKBON and ACEN)
Three years of teaching experience
Three years of industry experience
