Summary:
Oversees and manages the lifecycle of supplemental/extra benefit vendor relationships. Duties include initial evaluation of new benefit opportunities, request for proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, implementation, ongoing monitoring and oversight, renewals and terminations. Serves as a liaison between vendor partners and internal SummaCare departments to coordinate ongoing communication and delivery of the benefits.
Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience & Training Required:
a. Three (3) years’ experience managing and monitoring vendor relationships, experience managing a full project lifecycle, and/or negotiating contracts.
b. Project Management Certification preferred
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Ability to pass skill assessment administered by Human Resources for the following:
i. Microsoft Word at an intermediate level
ii. Microsoft Excel at a basic level
iii. Microsoft PowerPoint at an intermediate level
b. Experience in reviewing Service Level Agreements, Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work. Strong negotiation skills.
c. Experience in measuring and improving vendor operational performance.
d. Strong decision making/problem solving skills; can identify issues, recommend and implement solutions.
e. Strong organizational, consultative and collaboration skills – builds relationships with vendors, and other staff at every level in the organization.
f. Ability to facilitate meetings and lead cross-functional teams.
g. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
h. Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment, across departments and various levels in the organization.
i. Comfort with ambiguity and change.
j. Flexible: ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands.
k. Knowledge of Medicare Advantage and/or health insurance is preferred.
