Associate Director, Finance – Aliso Viejo, CA (Hybrid Role - onsite 3x/week)
The Associate Director, Finance is a key strategic business partner in financial analysis, achieving long-term goals and operational management. Be responsible for analyzing financial and non-financial information, providing reports to management to support business decisions and assisting with month-end close. This role will provide detailed variance analysis that supports the accuracy of the general ledger and be heavily involved with forecasting and budgeting. This role will act as a translator of financial information for the management team. This role will work closely with VP’s across different departments, providing them with financial and decision support, which ultimately will lead to improved operations and delivering new products to the patients we serve. This position will play a key role in business and market analysis, creating reporting structure and financial statements, budget planning and supporting business partners. This role requires deep understanding of all aspects of financial analysis and financial planning and will assist with market and product analysis.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and execute month-end close activities efficiently, accurately, and timely.
- Heavily involved in reviewing revenue recognition, drivers of revenue, and waterfall analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure financial performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze variances between actual performance and budgeted/forecasted figures, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
- Collaborate with departmental heads and operational teams to understand variances and drive accountability for meeting financial targets.
- Perform financial modeling and analysis for new and evolving initiatives
- Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline financial planning and analysis processes, enhance efficiency, and increase accuracy in forecasting and reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure appropriate accounting treatment and practices of the company’s finances are maintained
- Assist the internal auditing team by routinely performing reviews to ensure financial security
- Represent the Finance organization in cross-departmental projects and initiatives, ensuring changes to existing process/systems are covered by appropriate policies and internal controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in a financial/accounting capacity
- 5+ years of financial analysis – closing, planning, forecasting processes
- 5+ years of progressive financial management experience
- Business partnering experience
- Strong data analytics - experience working with large datasets
- Critical thinker- able to take large data sets and interpret the meaning of them to management
- Strong communicator – able to work effectively cross-functionally and at all levels within organization
- Strong knowledge of operational financial management processes, including forecasts/budgeting, cost allocations, capital expenditures, and OPEX
- Able to work both independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Progressive growth in career
Preferred
- Medical/Healthcare industry experience
- Experience in SAP, Tableau, Anaplan
- IFRS and US GAAP
- CPA or MBA
- Advanced knowledge and experience in system implementation and development
