Our client has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer to join their growing team.
Summary: The Electrical Engineer will act as the technical expert assisting in the planning, organization, and control of engineering activities of a project within the electrical discipline to best accomplish the successful completion of all projects assigned. The engineer will be expected to prepare power and lighting design documents for commercial projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the electrical engineering design of power and lighting for projects assigned by the Project Manager.
Review project fee contract and scope of work.
Participate in project kick-off meeting with all consultants to discuss schedule, scope and determine required information.
Delegate / assign work to Student or Co-op Engineering Interns, provide engineering training to and review / check their completed work.
Complete projects within assigned budget hours and schedule.
Assist the Project Manager by reviewing the project status, budget hours and schedule. Identify any issues related to expended time vs. budgeted hours.
Recognize when projects are approaching allocated / budgeted hours. Notify Project Manager and assist with issuing change of service forms to clients for approval prior to completion of services.
Assist with construction management in reviewing shop drawings and submittals during project construction phase.
Follow client/firm quality assurance procedures.
Research applicable building codes, standards, and various industry products.
Perform other designated tasks assigned by project manager.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering through an ABET accredited University.
3 plus years of power and lighting design for commercial or similar projects.
