Work closely with senior leadership to gather requirements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop key reports for the Department, including managing schedules and meeting timelines to drive successful client delivery.
Deliver presentations and reports to executive leadership, communicating findings, recommendations, and progress updates effectively to internal teams and clients.
Lead and manage multi-faceted projects, developing project plans, and utilizing project management methodologies to implement strategic goals and support an enterprise-wide performance improvement program.
Advise, mentor, coach, and train junior team members.
Participate in strategic reviews of DoD-wide priority areas, identifying key themes and providing recommendations for consistency and alignment to internal and public messaging.
Develop high-quality communications materials including but not limited to briefings, templates, memorandums, issue papers, and reports.
Design aesthetically appealing graphics to support briefings that inform senior leadership, with the demonstrated ability to interpret complex information into easily digestible visuals.
Manage and maintain quality and version control of work products, which involves collaborating with other DoD departments and divisions to gather inputs to ensure consistency.
Ensure all strategy and communication documents, taskers, and projects are complete, timely, and error-free, and all visual products contain accurate data and analytics.
Support the client in day-to-day operations and across teams to improve the effectiveness of management support functions across OSD and DoD.
Independently and proactively transmit information, obtain and assemble data, prepare and review presentations, and communicate inside and outside of the directorate.
Coordinate with team members, customers, and stakeholders to ensure plans, messaging, materials, and milestones are comprehensive and accurate.
Provide best practices and industry experience for the purpose of advising and making recommendations to leadership.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is skilled in project management, developing highly visible reports and briefings, graphic design, and data analysis and visualization. Specifically, the candidate is familiar with and has experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Familiarity with the DoD and OSD organizations and experience supporting senior level officials is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge management platforms (e.g., Power BI and SharePoint). Adobe InDesign experience is a plus.
Coaching and mentoring junior team members.
Excellent oral and written communication skills geared towards executives.
Experience with delivering high-quality client service and demonstrated professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, work under pressure, problem solve, and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
Ability to facilitate working sessions and promote collaboration.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience: This position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Experience working in or directly for the DoD is preferred. This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
Clearance Requirement: This position requires an interim or active Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
