Requirements / Qualifications
The School/Community Wellness Coach II works under the general supervision of a Student Services Administrator and is part of the school and district support team to make schools the centers of wellness in their communities. This individual applies a systemic, community partnership, youth-led, equity-focused, and developmentally appropriate approach to instruction, mental wellness, student behavior, and shared leadership with youth and families. This position provides an essential function in building and maintaining Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
Duties include, but are not limited to, implementing community school-site plans aligned with CCSPP model; researching and assisting in securing resources and community partnerships that assist youth and families; conducting needs assessments to identify social-emotional, mental health, curricular, and academic services that are most needed at the school sites; and managing and implementing an accountability plan and providing consistent/quarterly updates to constituents.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Public Health, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Must have at least 800 hours of professional experience performing similar functions and duties of this position, preferably in a school setting. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
