Overview:
As the Digital Designer, you will work in collaboration with Art Directors, Copywriters, Web Developers and Operations to bring sport category and brand campaigns to life as digital experiences for Patagonia.com, email and digital marketing. Your work will promote thoughtful and educational product experiences and use engaging storytelling to elevate touchpoints along the customer journey to inspire action or inform a purchase decision.
This role is a bridge between UX/UI design and creative direction bringing digital solutions to creative work and surfacing creative ideas and needs for the UX/UI design team. You will play a key role in orchestrating a customer-centric journey, innovating for digital platforms, bridging gaps between contributors and stakeholders, and being an ambassador for design thinking and digital best practices. What You’ll Do:
- Create low fidelity designs (wireframes, customer journey maps, content outlines, etc.) to communicate ideas and fundamental strategies at the beginning of a project.
- Create high fidelity design (prototypes, mockups, animations, final deliverables, etc.) to ensure quality of work and to communicate the intent and details of the final experience.
- Bring innovative digital ideas to Brand, Product, Film, and Environmental campaigns.
- Develop concepts and ideas from the ground up, pitch ideas to stakeholders, and prove your concepts with compelling, relevant, and meaningful work.
- Work on multiple projects, prioritizing as needed and efficiently managing time while giving and receiving strategic direction.
- Incorporate motion design elements using Adobe After Effects to bring stories to life across digital channels.
- Own the design process end-to-end, moving from concept through to final, at multiple fidelity levels and producing creative assets handoffs to support that process.
- Leverage, maintain and contribute to existing Figma asset library.
- Learn and ideate within a project or from project-to-project and help identify new opportunities.
- Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables.
- Create clean and descriptive production files for developers.
- Ensure the usability, consistency, brand relevance, and functionality of the finished product.
- Seek to integrate the latest digital technologies to create compelling web and mobile designs.

Experience You Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional digital design experience. Experience with ecommerce apparel or outdoor brands a plus.
- A strong and well-rounded foundation across visual design, customer-centered experience design, interaction design and the creative process.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Experience working with design systems and Figma asset libraries.
- Proficiency in motion design using Adobe After Effects.
- Solid experience in web design, email design and creating digital marketing assets.
- Pixel-perfect attention to detail.
- Experience working on a range of digital projects including responsive web pages, paid media, email templates, digital tool kits, creative technology or customer journey-based executions.
- Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of modern web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS and native iOS/Android apps.
- Strong project and people management skills. Must be able to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor.
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to articulate design intent to other members of the team, and project expertise and confidence to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent additional experience.
- Adobe Premiere and additional motion design experience a plus.
Hiring range: $90,000 - $100,000
Pay range: $84,450 -$126,675
