Sr Proposal Manager
The Senior Proposal Manager will work remotely in a hybrid model of approximately four (4) days per week remotely, and approximately one day per week at our corporate headquarters in Reston, VA. Independently and in fluid teams, the Senior Proposal Manager will manage and participate in proposals, responses to Government requests for information (RFIs), and the drafting/editing of other promotional/sales materials for submission to corporate executives and Federal Government clients. Responsibilities of the Senior Proposal Manager will include (but not be limited to):
- Independently plan and manage the proposal development process, including large proposal teams involving employees, subcontractors, and/or consultants. Plan and direct preparation of RFI responses, summaries of corporate capabilities and experience, management and technical approaches, and resumes. Perform compliance reviews of completed proposals and RFI responses.
- Apply federal procurement, proposal, and technical experience to understand nuances of request for proposal (RFP)/RFI requirements, collaborate on solutions, and resolve different interpretations of ambiguous guidance and requirements.
- Interact with corporate staff, technical experts, executives, senior staff from other companies, consultants, and U.S. Government officials; to include making and adjusting work assignments and facilitating proposal kick-off meetings and progress reviews.
- Support Capture team by engaging with creative services, graphic designers, color review teams as needed.
- Organize and manage corporate applications and databases containing proposals, RFI responses, business development plans, promotional/sales materials, and market research.
- Plan and manage business development metrics for ongoing programs in collaboration with the program management staff.
- Plan and perform internet research on Government agencies, companies, industries, and new business opportunities; analyze and summarize the results.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor’s degree in history, English, Journalism, Communications, Management, Project Management, Business, Accounting, or similar field is required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- At least five years of proposal management experience working in a fast-paced environment with fluid requirements that require frequent re-prioritization and flexible execution.
- Experience with prime and subcontracts proposal management in program services arena in Federal and Civilian government agencies. Demonstrated experience managing large proposal teams including employees, subcontractors, and/or consultants.
- Demonstrated experience conducting compliance reviews of complex proposals and RFI responses.
- Experience drafting, editing, reviewing, and publishing complex documents using proper English structure and grammar; including proposals, RFI responses, white papers, research papers, or articles published in refereed journals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, to include mastery of advanced Word and Excel features such as desktop publishing in Word as well as graphics and pivot tables in Excel.
- Experience interacting with senior corporate executives and/or Federal Government employees.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Work performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and customers.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity for office machine operation; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Must be able to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple demands and deadlines.
