Position Summary
The Engineering Lab Technician is responsible for a full range of testing prototype designs and new development. As well as routine testing of standard HVAC products and systems. Other duties include laboratory and equipment maintenance with a high focus on safety. This position requires a highly motivated person that is team oriented and is ready to contribute to the success of the whole team.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform testing of products for electrical, mechanical and gas and air functionality and records test data
Work with HVAC products
Designs and repairs special test equipment or fixtures.
Monitors and performs tests as required on life test units.
Interfaces with engineering in the design or improvement of new product
Prepares test reports for engineering evaluation.
Will be trained to answers technical questions from internal customers.
Monitors calibration dates and tests equipment or arranges for calibration as required per UL.
Assist assembly line staff in product testing.
Able to read scales, protractors, calipers, and other measuring instruments to check parts.
Interpret product specifications in a strict manner and report problems to team members or supervisor.
Will be expected to follow safety rules, standards and regulations.
Must perform all work in accordance with all safety procedures.
Regular attendance is essential.

Requirements
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Minimum
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2+ years’ experience with testing development
Preferred
2+ years’ experience in HVAC systems
Understanding of quality assurance processes in manufacturing
Skills & Characteristics
Excellent computer literacy, specifically with Excel charts and diagrams
Ability to objectively review and qualify objective data
A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
Be a highly motivated team player

Ability to learn quickly and work independently
Regular attendance is essential
Ability to safely handle gas, electrical and mechanical products, and test stations
Confident with use of various small and medium tools and data acquisition equipment

Ability to interpret performance and test standards
Must have flexibility with hours as required for testing
