Job Summary
Under the direction of the Elementary Co-Director of Curriculum, Intervention and Assessment, collaborates to implement equity-oriented computer science education for K-8 students. The Computer Science Implementation Coach will share our mission to motivate, prepare, and support teachers to integrate equity-oriented computer science into core curriculum with supports for English language development. Additionally, the Computer Science Implementation Coach builds family engagement and competence through computer literacy and communications. Collaborates regularly with teachers, administrators and other staff to support the infusion of computer science into the elementary and middle school curricula. This is a grant supported position and will require collaboration with external partners.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a valid CA Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential and an English Learners Authorization. Minimum Qualifications: Four years successful experience teaching in k-12 education, experience working with under-represented populations of students and English learners, experience in technical writing, communication or related field. Coaching and school leadership experience is desirable. Knowledge of computer science standards, elementary and middle school computer science curriculum, classroom technology to engage all learners, current effective programs and instructional practices to support Common Core State Standards, current effective professional development practices, current computer software applications and internet research, district policies and procedures, effective office organization and management, oral and written communication systems and college-level writing skills in English.
