This is an open recruitment to establish an eligibility list to fill vacancies for the 2024-2025 school year.
Positions in this classification typically work 4 - 6 hours per day, 5 days per week.
The recruitment process will consist of a technical evaluation and structured interview.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, perform a variety of duties involved in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of assigned computer lab and campus computer hardware and software; provide training and assistance to students and teachers concerning the operation of computers and related peripheral equipment and software applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform a variety of duties involved in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and basic repair and triage of assigned site computer hardware and software; assure proper operating condition of computer work stations and other equipment on assigned campus
Provide training and assistance to students and teachers concerning the operation of computers and related peripheral equipment and software applications; explain related practices, procedures and techniques; answer questions, resolve issues and perform demonstrations.
Maintain computers in proper operating condition; troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware, software and peripheral malfunctions; configure hardware and software to assure proper computer operations; perform general maintenance and repairs; arrange for major maintenance and repairs.
Operate and adjust computer equipment and peripherals; prepare and set up computer equipment for student and staff use; install hardware and software and observe elements of the computer for evidence of incorrect performance; install software updates and upgrades as needed; participate in creating and maintaining databases for various student technology programs.
Assist certificated teachers in reinforcing instruction to small groups or classes of students. Monitor and oversee student assignments in instructional areas.
Assist individuals and groups of students in completing assignments and projects; assure student understanding of rules and procedures pertaining to technology use; assist students by answering questions, providing proper examples, friendly attitude and general guidance.
Coordinate and schedule daily use of the technology resources as required; update and maintain related calendars; monitor and adjust computer learning activities in response to the needs of students and teachers.
Tutor and assist students in completing class assignments, homework and projects in various subject areas as assigned; assist students with developing typing skills as required.
Confer with teachers to coordinate lessons, develop technology projects and learning activities, discuss student needs and progress, and support classroom work.
Observe and control behavior of students in instructional areas according to approved procedures; monitor and report progress regarding student performance, computer skills and behavior.
Input student information and a variety of data into an assigned computer system; maintain automated records and databases; initiate queries and generate computerized lists and reports as assigned; verify accuracy of input and output data. Maintain and update various records related to students, progress, software and assigned activities.
Operate standard office and classroom equipment as assigned.
Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures; maintain computer equipment, lab and other assigned areas in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
Research, evaluate and provide recommendations concerning the implementation of computer software and applications as directed; maintain and update software licensing and subscriptions as assigned; confer with vendors concerning software problems and product and pricing information.
Run anti-virus programs as needed; implement anti-virus solutions and security patches; purge computers of ad-ware and spy-ware as required.
Install, set up and operate various audio-visual equipment and systems used in classrooms meetings and other events as assigned; troubleshoot and resolve general audio-visual equipment malfunctions.
Attend and participate in various meetings and in-services as assigned; conduct in-service trainings and tutorials for faculty concerning the operation of computer hardware and software as required.
