Job Description
Doka USA Ltd. seeks an Engineering Group Leader (Tomball, TX) to determine and plan technical solutions for all types of forming projects. Partner with customers, contractors, sales and operations departments while managing jobs from preliminary project planning stages to project completion. Support sales by determining appropriate formwork solutions that meet the customer’s needs (economically, and in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines). Work with sales to produce AutoCAD drawings during the proposal stage, finalize working drawings for Doka forming systems, and provide material lists for quotations and shipments to the site. Provide guidance to customers regarding forming solutions, service job sites and respond to questions concerning equipment usage. Produce and ensure that the drawings indicate the proper use of Doka forming equipment and that the drawings represent safe, economical and efficient designs. Provide analysis and design/price calculations as required. Ensure that the policies, procedures, programs, standards of performance and compliance are adhered to. Monitor conformance with contractual guidelines. Supervise four (4) direct reports holding the titles of Formwork Designers & Project Engineers. Up to 15% domestic travel required.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field and 7 years of experience in concrete forming. Must have the following experience: reading blueprints of various structures within the infrastructure, high-rise, commercial, institutional building sectors; AutoCAD (Including 3D), Tekla, Mathcad, RStab, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; static analysis and calculations of concrete forming and shoring systems including shoring, wall forms, single-sided formwork, and climbing platforms; formwork systems and assisting on the job site with correct assembly and use according to field drawings; technical knowledge of concrete and steel material and standard methods of forming structures built out of concrete or combination of concrete and Steel; designing custom steel parts and shaping timbers for formwork application; creating a bill of materials based on formwork drawings to provide pricing and/or delivery lists for projects; building methodology and site logistics, including construction equipment, building schedule, and site constraints; and designing formwork systems for highrise and infrastructure projects, such as hydraulically lifted formwork systems, superstructure bridge solutions and Girder Caps. Up to 15% domestic travel required.
