As a Color & Optical Physics Scientist, you will use optical physics and color science to research and develop color mathematics and algorithms for color related refinish coatings formulation, and adjustment for both solid and effect pigmentations. You will also use data analysis and AI to improve our way of thinking and working while driving short-term and long-term projects!
Key Responsibilities
Create advanced customer-facing electronic color tools for finding and formulating refinish paint to match a variety of unknowns containing effect pigments.
Develop laboratory practices to color match samples.
Develop and test models for variant development and selection.
Work in partnerships with equipment vendors to create and test new technology.
Provide color related training to the Refinish organization.
Work with laboratories and research centers on different research projects.
Use project management tools to build a project starting from conceptualization to post-launch stage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Color Science
4+ years’ experience in statistics, engineering, physics, optics, or coatings.
Experience with Calculus, Linear Algebra (Matrix Mathematics), and Data Science
Must have experience with color science, color theory or light physics
