This position is partially remote for the greater Los Angeles area, and you have the option to elect to a 9/80 flex work schedule. The pay range for this role is between $89,000 - $98,900 annually.

Summary
Works collaboratively with the Director of Development, Major Gifts, the Vice President of Development, and with the partnership and support of the Development team to develop and implement targeted strategies to engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships as appropriate; and manages a portfolio of gifts for events and other agency initiatives.
Primary Duties
- Partners with Director of Development, Major Gifts in implementing effective fundraising strategies that achieve philanthropic goals and further the programs and mission of Didi Hirsch.
- Supports the strategy for and implementation of a major gifts plan to enhance and build up the base of individual donors.
- Manages, cultivates, and stewards a portfolio of donors through 1-on-1 visits, site tours, events, and leverages relationships of the board, CEO, and VP of Development to achieve fundraising targets.
- Examines and leverages research on donor prospects to learn their giving history and charitable inclinations.
- Prepares written solicitation packages that include giving history, suggestions that may best appeal to the donors’ philanthropic interests.
- Partners with Marketing and Communications team on projects pertaining to major gifts or individual fundraising work, such as individual or small group presentations, mailings/emails to specific donor groups, and other cultivation events.
- Writes follow-up correspondence to individuals and certain foundation donors; creates reports about progress in solicitations of major donors.
- Ensures all assigned major donors receive appropriate, consistent engagement/acknowledgement and updates on the impact that their gifts have on community needs.
- Partners with Events Manager on details of donor outreach/fundraising events.
- Stays informed about programmatic activities, maintaining the capacity to converse with donors regarding our work as well as develop written cultivation and stewardship materials that relay the work and impact effectively.
- Remains aware of trends in the field of philanthropy, which may include attending pertinent conferences and regularly monitoring appropriate literature (i.e., Inside Philanthropy)
- Supports the creation of innovative funding strategies as well as programs and projects to thank and to steward donors.
Position Requirements
- 3 years of experience in donor relationship work with a proven record of success in cultivation, solicitation and securing individual gifts and achieving fundraising goals.
- Experience in focused relationship strategies with the ability to successfully manage and grow relationships with donors.
- Demonstrated ability to track donor engagement and related outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative manner as part of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytic and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage any individual regardless of background.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time, can drive multiple pieces of work forward simultaneously while meeting all deadlines.
- Goal-oriented team player.
- Ability to recognize any relationship can be opportunity for donor, funder or business engagement/solicitation.
- Current California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
