The Sr Accountant supports the fiscal service functions of the Accounting Department, including financial reporting, journal entry preparation, monthly closing, complex account reconciliation and analysis, audit preparation, tax preparation, and customer support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Five years staff accountant experience.
- Three years in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring accurate and transparent reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepares financial reports in varying formats utilizing multiple data sources.
- Helps generate monthly financial packages to distribute to accounting department management, senior leaders, internal partners, board and board sub-committees.
- Completes account reconciliations, budget variance and other financial statement analysis.
- Prepares audit work papers for year-end audit, involving compliance, regulatory and other assigned audits.
- Ensures proper financial and internal controls are in place and provides research and recommendations for improvement.
- Helps compile 990 tax returns and other tax-related documents requested by third-party firms.
- Provide strategic support and address management needs for financial information through routine or ad hoc financial reports and analysis.
- Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Salary/Exempt
$57,600 – $83,500
