To help the Intel Federal Team build functional systems and solutions that improve the customer experience, we're looking for a platform security architect who can be responsible for identifying novel hardware and firmware use cases, identifying platform opportunities and solutions, as well as implementing new platform integrations that meet our customers' end-to-end architectural needs.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in firmware, business flows and hardware engineering and be proficient with Ruby, Python or C variants, as well as architecting solutions in accordance with Zero Trust principals. The Platform Security Architect will also help identify, plan, and build full stack hardware-based solutions, create novel end-to-end security solutions, and be involved in project management decisions.
Objectives of this role:
- Building and implementing new platform-based solutions and infrastructure in accordance with Zero Trust principals from the hardware through full stack.
- Understanding and identifying the use cases of customers and conveying them to platform developers.
- Working on ways to improve hardware, firmware and software development and release processes.
- Testing and examining firmware, bus flows, hardware security and assurance use cases and analyzing results.
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against a wide variety of cybersecurity threats from the hardware up through end-to-end architectures.
- Working with both software, hardware and firmware developers and engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Evaluating, developing, and leading platform development projects from the hardware up through end-to-end architectures.
- Training and overseeing the activities of the members of the development team.
- Planning, tracking, and scheduling deliverables.
- Looking for problems and vulnerabilities within hardware, firmware and bus flow systems and providing novel solutions.
- Engaging with end customers and partners to understand and path find use case requirements and solutions for mission objectives.
- Developing good working relationships with other employees, such as Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Programmers and Engineers.
Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field and 9+ years of applicable experience.
- 9+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software and platform engineering role with expertise in firmware and hardware use cases.
- 8+ years of experience with Zero Trust principals, development, and deployments.
- 2+ years of proficiency with Git and GitHub, or similar, workflows.
- 7+ years of experience interfacing with JTAG, SWD, and other Debug interfaces.
- 2+ years of proficiency with SPI, PCIe and other bus communications protocols.
- 7+ years of proficiency with Ruby, Python or C variants.
- 2+ years proficiency with Synopsys, Teledyne, Riscure, or similar protocol, hardware, firmware, and platform analysis tools.
- 5+ years of experience with both whitebox and blackbox analysis techniques.
This position involves work on US Government Contracts and/or proposals for US Government Contracts that limit participation to US Citizens. A person may be required to provide proof of US Citizenship in order to comply with US government requirements. Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in
US, Washington, California:$162,041.00-$259,425.00
Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.
Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
