In this role, you will be primarily focused on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services. You will be responsible for a range of tasks including order entry, order management, customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, glasswash operations, and lab-based tasks such as reagent preparation.
Location/Division Specific Information
Location: New Haven, CT
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $20-$23/hr, depending on experience
What will you do?
Perform various activities using Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems
Engage in laboratory services including order delivery, glassware processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and reagent preparation
Follow work processes as outlined by our written procedures
Proactively communicate with your supervisor regarding customer concerns and potential problems
Listen to customer concerns and effectively address issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframe
Engage in process improvement activities
Additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong communication skills and a desire to deliver excellent customer service
Interpersonal skills to collaborate with personnel at the customer site
Operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems
Analytical skills to reconcile reports
Computer proficiency, including intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite
Organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently at customer sites, including spaces where chemical-based allergens may be in use
Physical ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $16.78–$25.00.
