Role and responsibilities
The Principal Power Electronics Design Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, realization, and qualification of electrical Mains distribution systems. The following deliverables are created:
- The functional overview and block diagrams describing the overview of the functions within the (sub) system on a high level
- The mains distribution module specification (EPS), test specification (TPS), design specification (EDS) and qualification document (TAR) of electrical mains distribution modules.
- Define, document and maintain requirements and roadmaps for the electrical mains distribution infrastructure.
- Investigate and write down the requirements of production and service.
- Perform trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for the realization of the electrical mains distribution infrastructure
- Make concept and detailed designs (from critical component thru detailed wiring diagram) that meet the international standards on electrical safety , EMC, and system performance requirement
- Operate in a multidisciplinary team and interface with multiple projects to realize own work.
- Manage the electrical mains distribution interfaces and power budget between the modules in the product.
- Implement, validate detailed engineering changes into the products.
- Investigate and solve issues on the Electrical mains distribution infrastructure.
- Participate in realization and detailed design of the infrastructure like connection panels, electronic racks & cabinets, and mains distribution modules.
- Represent project team in different meetings.
- Make a personal work breakdown planning, align with team and interfacing projects.
- Continuously improve the design reliability, quality, cost of goods, commonality and industrialization.
- Mentor and coach the junior Electrical Design Engineers

Education and experience
Bachelor degree, Master degree or Ph.D in electrical engineering or similar level acquired by working experience. Minimum qualifications – the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including:
- 5-7 year experience with Ph.D degree or 8-10 years of experience with Master degree or 10+ years of experience with Bachelor degree e as Electrical Designer of electronic functions, power electronics, including experience with working in multidisciplinary
- Strong and sound knowledge of electrical connection methods, digital circuitry and power electronics (AC mains power & linear and switching DC power distribution).
- Strong and solid Knowledge and practical experience on EMC and EMI
- Fully solid knowledge/understanding and practical experience of electrical safety standards (IEC), US standards (NFPA, UL) and SEMI standards.
- Solid technical knowledge on electronics, safety risk assessment and electrical module level compliance
- Experience with general electrical power electronics principles and electrical development methods and processes.
- Strong English communication, documentation and presentation skills
- Years of hands on experience for testing and trouble shooting/diagnosis of the electrical design in system level and module level
- Year of experience of schematics design, prefer to have the PCB layout experience
- Good understanding of the e-beam system is preferred
- 1-2 years experience of technical leadership and management skills is a must

- Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

- Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

Must be willing to lift up to 20 pounds, pull 20 pounds at least once a day and spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the floor working on tool sets, walking three to five miles a day, and/or standing/sitting for nine hours.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $160,500-$267,500. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data.
