Job Description
We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager with a Secret Clearance! The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) plays a critical role in supporting the Program Manager (PM) in overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex programs within an organization. A week in the life of our Deputy Program Manager:
Program Planning and Execution Support:
Assist the Program Manager in developing and maintaining comprehensive program plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate with stakeholders to define program scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Monitor program progress, track milestones, and identify potential risks and issues.
Support the implementation of program management best practices and methodologies.
Cross-Functional Team Coordination:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of program activities. Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members to optimize program performance. Assist in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges that may arise during program execution.
Support the development and maintenance of effective relationships with stakeholders.
Assist in managing program resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment.
Coordinate resource allocation and utilization to optimize program efficiency and effectiveness.
Monitor resource availability and proactively identify and address any resource constraints.
Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Risk Management and Issue Resolution:
Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of program risks.
Assist in developing risk management strategies and contingency plans to address potential issues. Monitor program activities and escalate significant risks or issues to the Program Manager for resolution.
Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes to address program challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Assist in managing relationships with program stakeholders, including clients, sponsors, and partners. Facilitate regular communication and reporting on program status, progress, and performance.
Provide updates and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders as required.
Act as a liaison between the program team and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Job Requirements
MS/MA degree in Business, Management, Administration, Information Technology Management, Cyber Security or related Technical Discipline. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A BS or BA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for an MS or MA degree.
Minimum of twelve (12) years of professional experience supporting Defense acquisition, three (3) years of which must have been in the previous six (6) years, in support of DoD Acquisition management; and a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience.
Secret Clearance Required.
Experience with aircraft systems, hardware and software, configuration control, test and evaluation, systems integration, and systems supportability.
Experience managing different phases of weapon system acquisition, including Concept Development, SD&D.
Knowledgeable of acquisition policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the requirements of the DOD 5000 series.
Demonstrated ability to work with large and diverse teams and the ability to effectively provide guidance, direction, and supervision in all areas of contracted effort such as program management, systems engineering, major system acquisitions, and financial management.
PMP Certification and ITIL.
Advanced Project Management Certification: Possession of additional project management certifications beyond the basic requirement (e.g., Program Management Professional (PgMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)) demonstrates a deep understanding of project and program management principles and methodologies.
