DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will answer calls using BCHS and DOH policies and procedures and knowledge of agency, local government, community, and commonwealth programs to provide information and referral on DOH programs to the general public. You will also log calls to the Health Database to provide measures on health program activities. In addition, you will refer calls to other agencies as appropriate, as well as provide appropriate referrals to community resources to meet the identified needs of the client.
The Clerical Assistant 2 will provide clerical support to professional staff who develop, coordinate, and provide educational programs to increase community and professional awareness and knowledge of public health issues (e.g., support for health fairs, clinics, and disease/animal bite investigations). This position will provide clerical support for clinics and assigned clinical services using DOH procedures to ensure a customer-oriented clinic is communicated, run, and documented to program staff as required. Additionally, the Clerical Assistant 2 will provide clerical coverage to State Health Centers as assigned to ensure adequate clerical coverage.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirement:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
