The CDnA - Global Insights Sr. Manager (Oncology) will work directly with oncology teams supporting multiple products and assets across Amgen’s Oncology Business Unit (OBU).
This individual will lead insight generation activities by integrating primary market research (qualitative and quantitative) with secondary data analytics and other creative approaches as necessary. The role reports to the Director for Global Commercial Insights, Oncology.
Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA US Headquarter site. You will work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.
- Independently identifies and translates unstructured business issues/requests into action plans and projects that result in high quality deliverables that impact the business
- Consistently engage in thought leadership to craft commercial strategy
- Advocate an objective perspective to various functions, including Marketing, Global Value & Access, and Medical
- Lead and facilitate internal cross-functional strategic discussions to develop hypothesis, identify key gaps, and create forward-action plans to inform product strategy
- Support global brand planning process for in-line brands by leading situational assessments and informing strategic areas of focus through robust data and insights
- Plan, design and conduct primary market research for multiple assets in various stages of product lifecycle to enable strategic decision making
- Conduct ad hoc strategic secondary analytics to inform strategic decisions
- Synthesize and Integrate insights from a variety of sources (market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, performance tracking, thought-leader interactions) to address business needs
- Clearly communicate ideas and insights via written or verbal presentation that helps deepen customer understanding and influences leadership to make decisions informed by insights
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with best-in-class insights vendors
- Ensure that both routine and ad-hoc projects are in compliance with all Amgen SOPs and meet service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, and budget
- Set priorities, develop and manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of market research and/or analytics experience
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of market research and/or analytics experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of market research and/or analytics experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of market research and/or analytics experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of market research and/or analytics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in oncology via prior project work, disease area knowledge, marketing/sales experience, etc.
- Ability to extract, analyze, treat, and consolidate data from different sources in clear and concise formats with rigor and high level of accuracy
- Strong understanding of the latest developments and trends in the oncology space, key competitive dynamics and unmet medical needs
- Experience in insights generation for the biopharmaceutical (or other healthcare) industries including primary market research
- Ability to think strategically to support key business decision
- Demonstrated track record of thinking strategically, analyzing data to support key business decisions through thoughtful insights and recommendations
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment across different functional groups
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts and controversial findings clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior management
- Skilled in prioritizing multiple responsibilities, priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously
- Experience with commonly used biopharmaceutical industry datasets and databases
- Experience managing multiple collaborators, prioritizing across a multitude of responsibilities, and allocating bandwidth to drive maximum impact

Salary Range
158,708.00 USD - 187,025.00 USD
