BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Environmental Planning and Abatement Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the company’s emissions planning and abatement initiatives. This position is responsible for prioritization of projects and initiatives that minimize our environmental impact, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and support sustainable operations. Collaborating extensively with Business Units, this position involves assessing emission reduction solutions and facilitating piloting opportunities, as well as supporting comprehensive multi-year plans for emission abatement. Additionally, this role includes managing a dedicated capital budget allocated for the testing and evaluation of emission reduction strategies, as well as for emissions monitoring and quantification systems, specifically focusing on emissions mitigation and regulatory compliance.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires knowledge of environmental regulations, facility design, and facility operation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Articulates an environmental strategy that is directly tied to the business' strategies and goals
• Understanding of air emissions modeling software
• Leads the development of proactive projects and initiatives to mitigate methane emissions
• Track, assess, and maintains compliance with new Federal and State climate related emissions rules
• Integration and execution planning for emissions monitoring and quantification systems
• Provides support and guidance on facility design improvements (emissions related)
• Develop, test, and integrate autonomous emission predictive analytics
• Develops in-depth multi-year emissions forecasting and planning
• Supervises staff responsible for Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
• Oversees adherence to voluntary emissions related programs (ex. OGMP, Veritas, etc.)
• Ensures work is prioritized and coordinated between stakeholder groups within Devon
• Empowers staff to make bold and innovative impacts on our business
• Works with leadership peers to remove obstacles and barriers to change

PREREQUISITES
• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years related experience preferred
• Oil and gas industry experience
• Experience with Promax software preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve project related goals
• Ability to solve complex problems and provide creative and flexible solutions
• Organize and manage data, info, tasks, communications, and timelines effectively
• Forward-looking and thinking
• Travel required
