Job Overview
This on-site position is responsible for directly managing and overseeing the daily operations of a New Store set up, Remodel, Refresh, NXTGEN conversion or company directed Roll Out.
This role is responsible for completing the scope of work, coordinating work activities, and partnering with internal and external partners to ensure the work is completed on time and within budget. This role will report directly to the Director of Store Development.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage on-site construction teams, vendors, schedules, and budgets for assigned remodels, refresh, rollouts, expansion projects to ensure that department objectives are met, and service is completed at all levels in a timely manner.
- Serve as the site point of contact for all cross functional departments.
- Partner with internal space planning, store planning and store design teams to recommend rollout tactics or field modifications.
- Maintain and demonstrate the company’s “Customer Obsessed” focus during the remodel process.
- Research existing store conditions through partnerships with field operations team members to develop and prioritize remodel/refresh work in support of real estate and store development initiatives.
- Prepare and submit daily updates/reports detailing status of assigned projects to include project status, scheduling, issues, sales performance, and project risk assessment.
- Perform site surveys and punch lists as required.
- Partner with Real Estate, Store Planning & Design, Construction, Store Operations, IT, LP and Legal Departments to coordinate communications with Landlords, municipalities, code officials and others to resolve outstanding issues such as violations, default notices and LL required work completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Experience overseeing construction with an understanding of construction means and methods.
- Experience with gondola fixture systems and related parts and components for fixture installations, fixture modifications and open store remodels.
- Understands fire safety codes and means and methods to correct and prevent all safety, fire code and building violations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Solid project planning, communication and management skills supervising various service providers.
- Experience supervising a team to include both internal direct reports and external consultants and service providers.
- Comfortable working with software systems such as MS Office Suite, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working within web-based project management systems.
- Solutions-oriented and expert communicator capable of developing cross-functional partnerships.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a Retail leadership role.
- Expertise in retail projects with in-depth knowledge of retail systems, gondola fixture systems, fixture installations, building finishes such as flooring, wall finishes, etc.
- Must be capable of reading and comprehending construction drawings.
- Medium box retail experience a plus.
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Strong Retail Facilities/ Construction comprehension.
- Ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel - > 90% Up to 100%
