Summary:
Kitting Team Leader is responsible for driving accurate and effective goals in the Kitting Department. Team Leader will also assist with department needs including working with kitting and assembly to allocate resources where needed; communicating with PPD (Parts Planning Department) and team to ensure schedule attainment is achieved; communicating part issues; restock requests and priorities.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
- 1-2 Years of kitting, assembly, material handling, and or receiving experience, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associates in this position are expected to have a thorough knowledge of plant layout, warehouse mapping, equipment applications, material requirements and good inventory control practices
- Associate shall exhibit strong communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in Oracle and Microsoft Office, preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills or abilities
- Ability to learn and use RF scanner
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with production supervisor, to ensure proper staffing and distribute workload
- Completes and maintains a variety of measurements, reports, records and documentation
- Works with parts planning department on prioritizing the daily attainment schedule to achieve a 95% OTD
- Knowledgeable of the part identification system, specialty codes and part revisions
- Strives to improve departmental efficiencies and reduce cost through continuous improvement
- Communicates work order priorities and coordinates assignments of work to kitting team
- Strives to reduce kitting errors and quality issues
- Trains and supports kitting team
- Act as a liaison between material handling, assembly and kitting
- Adheres to Company quality control system
- Complies with all quality assurance procedures and policies to ensure best quality product output
- Adheres to established inventory control systems and computer tracking
- Maintains a clean and safe warehouse and working environment
- Fosters goodwill with all internal customers
- Maintains excellent attendance
- Completes all duties as assigned
- Works overtime as assigned

The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
