The Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) program supports the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Office of Space Launch (OSL) with launch mission activities at Vandenberg, SFB and Cape Canaveral, SFS. We provide capabilities for satellite transportation, propellant loading operations, and radio frequency detection, plus the operation and sustainment of cleanrooms in satellite processing and other support facilities.
Working side by side with our Transportation, Propellant, Radio Frequency, and Facility Capability Owners at the Vandenberg SFB location, you’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to ensure Mission success.
In this role you will:
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (drawings primarily) used for fabrication, assembly, and test of equipment, systems, and facilities used to transport payloads and prepare them for launch.
• Consult with engineering teammates to understand their designs and design intent, translating that into concise released engineering drawings
• Coordinate with fabrication shop subject matter experts to assure designs can be built as envisioned
• Become subject matter expert relied upon for guidance to create accurate, clear, concise drawings that abide by industry standards
We're looking for:
• A self-starter who implements solutions to technical issues
• A motivated individual to work closely with a multidisciplinary and diverse team to resolve problems
• Someone able to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines • Demonstrated collaboration among interdisciplinary teams consisting of technical and non-technical members
• Associates degree in drafting or a relevant field
• Proficiency with AutoCAD X-refs
• Proficiency with AutoCAD model space and paper space environments
• Proficiency with CMStat, Windchill or equivalent PLM Tool
• Familiarity with: 3D modeling software (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks) and Exporting into AutoCAD
• Experience with Configuration Management, baseline documentation release, and change control processes
• Experience with drawing verification walk-down audits
• Familiarity with Drawing Hierarchy and Configuration Items
• Well versed with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• An active Top Secret clearance is a definite plus • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2018 or more recent versions
• Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining technical drawings of engineered systems, fabricated parts, sub-assemblies, and facility systems
• A working understanding of ASME drafting standards
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an elevated U.S. government security clearance
• Must be a US citizen
