Join a team of dedicated public policy professionals in advancing evidence-based policy proposals informed by the data, expertise, and resources of JPMorgan Chase in collaboration with colleagues from across the Corporate Responsibility department and the JPMC lines of business.
Job Summary
As a Public Policy Associate within the JPMC PolicyCenter, you will support a broad range of public policy initiatives, including identifying and developing policy proposals and advocacy strategies that drive inclusive economic growth and reduce barriers to mobility. You will report to the Head of the PolicyCenter and will work together with the PolicyCenter team on high-priority policy priorities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a range of economic development policy areas and will leverage their knowledge, and skills to achieve desired policy and legislative outcomes at all levels of government through targeted and sustained advocacy with a diverse set of stakeholders. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
Job Responsibilities
Help to identify, develop and advocate for a portfolio of promising public policy and legislative opportunities, on which the firm has credibility and expertise to speak, to create economic opportunity and drive more inclusive domestic (US) growth
Think creatively about the firm's assets and tools to drive policy impact.
Support the PolicyCenter’s advocacy efforts to inform and engage with government officials to advance policy recommendations.
Develop and draft policy briefs on high-priority policy initiatives from within Corporate Responsibility and the firm.
Assist with PowerPoint deck creation and presentations when relevant.
Represent the PolicyCenter and firm in relevant meetings with external stakeholders, including elected officials, policymakers, funders, other partners.
Convene and coordinate networks of external partners on issues of shared importance to raise the profile of the work and advance advocacy efforts.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with JPMC business leaders and colleagues in other parts of CR.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Bachelor's Degree required
3+ years of relevant work experience in public policy, advocacy, or related field; must include experience in US economic policy, development, and/or public affairs
Passion for the PolicyCenter's mission; knowledge of and experience related to developing and advancing policies that drive inclusive and equitable economic growth and development
Results-oriented with demonstrated organizational, analytical, and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to understand and effectively communicate a broad range of public policy issues
Experience interacting with executive management and senior leaders
Experience building relationships and coalitions with a variety of stakeholders on issues related to creating economic opportunity and driving inclusive growth
Infrequent domestic travel expected, health and safety guidance permitting
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Relevant Master’s degree is preferred (e.g. MPP, MPA, etc.)
