Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 40 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,500 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion. Located in Southern California, Los Angeles County is geographically one of the nation's largest counties, covering 4,084 square miles and, with over 10,400,000 residents, is also one of its most populous counties.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Principal Technology Analyst partners with managers to develop a deep understanding of organizational functions in order to support complex technology projects that automate court operational and administrative processes. This role applies business process reengineering methodology and analytical skills to gather requirements, perform research and develop recommended solutions that leverage technology to deliver enhanced court services while reducing costs, and improving efficiency, quality and customer service. Principal Technology Analyst , in collaboration with CTS staff, integration partners and product support teams, also identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex technology problems and issues, and work independently or on teams to plan, coordinate and implement technology projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
OPTION I: Graduation from a college or university with a major in computer sciences, management information systems, or a related field AND five (5) years of experience providing technical and business process support, analysis, or project management for systems/applications.
OPTION II: A Master’s degree in an Information Technology-related field of study and three (3) years of experience providing technical and business process support, analysis, or project management for systems/applications.
Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Java development experience using a framework (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
• Good understanding of RDBMS, SQL, report-building tools like JasperReport/Crystal Report, and Power BI.
• Practical knowledge of CSS, HTML, Java, Apache Velocity and Groovy
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems using low-code development tools to realize new technical solutions
• Experience in supporting production systems, preferably for a Court case management system.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills conveying technical requirements to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in using standard office productivity software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
• Knowledge of Court case processing or accounting/financial processing procedures.
