Job Summary
Under the direction of the Student Support Services Director, the Certified Occupational
Therapist provides direct and consultative occupational therapy services to designated students according to goals contained in an individualized education plan (IEP). The OT will provide assessment, consultation, and direct occupational therapy to students enrolled in or referred to special education programs. Additionally, the OT will collaborate with general and special education staff and parents to identify strategies, methods, and patterns of instructional support while also participating as a member of the educational team, develop assessment reports, identify student abilities, create and implement student IEP goals and individual occupational therapy intervention plans. The OT will also maintain appropriate documentation and reports, provide staff development training to educational personnel. In all roles listed above, the OT will supervise, guide, and mentor Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA’s) and other support staff while serving on administrative teams and committee’s as necessary. The OT will also complete other related work as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in an Occupational Therapy related field
- Two years experience working as an Occupational Therapist in an educational setting
- Copy of Transcript (Unofficial Transcript from Bachelors Degree)

Comments and Other Information
NOTE:
- Salary Placement: External candidates cannot place past step D. Internal candidates will be placed based on CSEA Article VIII (8) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Benefits: This position includes a full benefit package of Medical, Dental, and Vision for employees and eligible dependents.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8 hours with 1 hour lunch). The position is assigned to Student Support Services.
