The purpose of this position/class is to work with Federal and State representatives to maximize reimbursable funds into the County.
Job Responsibilities
Researches, reconciles and creates project documentation for expenditure tracking
Updates and manages Federal and State portals.
Audits contracts, orders and vouchers for regulatory compliance.
Prepares and post journal entries on a daily, monthly, quarterly or annual basis relating to assigned funds.
Point of Contact for external agencies.
Direct Administrative Cost (DAC) management.
Participates in the development of new disaster systems.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
Monitors and reconciles assigned funds, preparing all necessary reports that are required by state and/or federal law.
Analyze assigned funds for negative balance, reclassification and errors in posting.
Monitors assigned funds for budgetary compliance.
Interacts with and assist other county departments as needed.
Prepares investment schedules, reports and general ledger activities.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual A/R billings, schedules and grant financial reports.
Reconciles A/R subsystem to annual ledger for monthly report.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
Requires two years of experience in government accounting, grants administration, general finance operations or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses
Preference in governmental accounting and project documentation.
