A Configuration Manager is responsible for guaranteeing that software and technologies adhere to policies and standards. They work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to apply expertise in developing, implementing, and enforcing configuration standards and best practices. Configuration Managers ensure that code changes enhance the resiliency and robustness of the system, minimizing potential impact. They are highly collaborative, communicative, and maintain documentation to ensure proper tracking, checkoffs, and accountability throughout the software delivery life cycle.
Configuration Managers manage the delivery of the most advanced digital solutions working directly with clients to integrate and build better platforms. Expect to move quickly in a fast-paced and fluid environment to drive the Agile development of a project roadmap, establish project milestones, and implement metrics to track progress, while bringing people together to make a tangible difference.
- A bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related (technical) discipline & 5 years of experience. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Must be authorized to work in the US and have lived in the U.S. for 3 + consecutive years
5+ years of experience in configuration management
· 5+ years of experience with directing and addressing the management and coordination of products from development through production, including leading the coordination, integration, and flow of development, testing, and deployment.
· Experience with source code version control systems (GitHub).
· Experience with Agile collaboration and task management tools (JIRA)
· Experience with providing limited code reviews to Java based software projects.
· Knowledge of Agile methodologies or the software development life cycle (SDLC)
· Ability to describe and document issues for different audiences, managers, system engineers, and administrators.
· Experience with identifying configuration items, performing periodic audits, and providing verification of version release configuration items.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
· Experience with developing and maintaining CM process standards and plans and analyzing procedures -.
· Experience with managing changes in process while ensuring methods and processes are properly approved, communicated, and managed throughout the CM process.
· Experience in planning, evaluating, directing, tracking, analyzing, and coordinating CM activities on large, complex programs or projects.
· Experience with developing and documenting business processes or workflows
· Ability to facilitate planning meetings.
· Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including effectively communicating technical topics
· Familiarity with ITIL practices, or similar industry based standards.
