Role Summary: The Engineering Co-op is to provide support of End-User Aftermarket Application Engineering team and local Sales Engineers in various business activities related to mechanical seals, seal support systems, and pumps. The activities include but not limited to working with others to support completion of equipment surveys and data acquisition for rotating equipment at customer facilities, completing as found condition reports on failed components, researching application specific information, and supporting key initiatives as designated by the local management.
This Co-Op/Internship will initiate in the Summer, and might be a part- or full-time position, according to candidate's availability.
Location: Rancho Dominguez, CA.
Responsibilities:
Will support the equipment survey process and Flowstar.net program
Will support inventory survey and consolidation efforts
Will support daily advancements toward the agreed upon as set forth by the Engineering Manager
Will examine failed products, providing both written and oral explanations to the responsible Flowserve personnel
Develop and acquire basic knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support Flowserve activities.
Develop and maintain working relationship with Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, Regional Reliability Engineer, and Engineering Manager
Attend and support meetings as designated by management
Will support key initiatives supporting the local Flowserve Quick Response Center.
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering enrollment in good standing at an accredited university.
Good communication skills and computer skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft programs a must.
Ability to utilize measuring equipment (ie. dial calipers, micrometers, etc.) a plus
Demonstrates mechanical aptitude
Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed environment.
Ability to learn quickly and develop good trouble shooting skills.
Strong work ethic with positive attitude.
Reliable transportation
Ability to travel occasionally to support needs within the West Coast Region.
The pay range for this Co-Op/ Internship is $15.54 - 23.30 USD Hourly, depending upon level of experience.
