Responsibilities
This position is responsible for assisting in various aspects of the hospital's financial reporting. This includes preparing, reviewing, and distributing monthly financial reports to management, tracking expenses and revenues vs. budget, and reforecasting and analyzing fluctuations. The Financial Analyst will also assist in the preparation of annual financial information, quarterly operating reports, and the budget reforecast process. Additionally, this position will maintain budget and reforecast information in the accounting system, evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization, and develop, maintain, and distribute reports and financial models as needed. This position is expected to perform duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan TJC and other licensing accrediting and regulatory agencies.
Compiles budget information submitted by the department heads and prepares the hospital's annual statistics and capital budget according to established guidelines and procedures.
Provides guidance and assistance to hospital department heads in preparing their respective expense budgets.
Assists in various projects and financial analyses for the Decision Support Manager CFO and senior management including:
a) Providing statistical and income statement information to be used in the Dignity Health Ten year Financial Forecast of net income and cash flows for the hospital.
b) Assessing the impact of new products technology services and processes on existing hospital operations and making recommendations for improvement.
c) Providing analytical technical and operational expertise to assess operational flow and performance issues.
Prepare review and distribute monthly financial reports to management.
Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations.
Prepare annual financial information
Prepare quarterly operating reports
Assist in the budget reforecast process
Maintain budget and reforecast information in the accounting system
Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed
Develop maintain and distribute reports and financial models as needed
Assist the Accounting Department personnel as needed
Qualifications
BS degree in Business Administration Accounting or Finance.
Thorough knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, Kronos, Visionware, Productivity System database applications procedural cost accounting systems and query based finance systems.
