The College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is seeking an IT Security Lead to play a pivotal role in enhancing, managing, and communicating our security policies, procedures, and practices. As the lead, you will ensure the security and compliance of our IT infrastructure and systems, liaise with central University security projects, and address current and emerging security risks. What you will do:
Security Management
Develop and implement security policies and procedures for the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
Manage security roles and permissions for various systems and platforms, such as Smartsheet, Power Platform, and SharePoint.
Ensure compliance with University and external security standards and regulations.
Continuously monitor security posture and proactively identify and mitigate security risks including vulnerabilities, role provisioning/de-provisioning, and log monitoring.
Change Management
Liaise with central University security projects and represent the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
Coordinate security initiatives and tasks with other IT teams and stakeholders.
Report on security project status, progress, and outcomes.
Provide guidance and support for security-related issues and inquiries.
System Support
Back up team members on administrative system tasks to ensure continuity of operations.
Troubleshoot system issues, provide technical support, and address end-user inquiries.
Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
Serve as primarily subject matter expert on the school’s security management toolset.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of relevant work experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Ability to develop and implement security policies and procedures clearly and effectively.
Experience managing security roles and permissions across various systems and platforms.
A commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of relevant experience
Experience with security tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Qualys, and Nessus.
Experience with Windows, MacOS and Linux endpoint management tools such as Mosyle, FileWave, Jamf, Intune, and SCCM.
Experience leading or participating in security audits and assessments.
Proven track record of effectively backing up team members.
Ability to connect with other schools/units for collaborative security initiatives.
Anticipated hiring range: $ 70,000 - $90,000
