The Equipment Specialist assists with managing daily operations of the equipment procurement, inventory management, maintenance and utilization of the First Team's equipment and gear. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Equipment Specialist ensures equipment and gear is functional, safe, and set up to support the First Teams training and game day needs.
The Equipment Specialist will:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and preparation of equipment needs for the players and staff.
- Organize and prepare player lockers with equipment prior to training.
- Help coaching staff/medical staff deliver equipment to field prior to the start of training.
- Collects and inventories all training equipment daily.
- Conduct laundry of all training kits and staff kits immediately following training.
- Responsible for organization and appearance of locker room, and common area.
- Responsible for setting up of team dressing room prior to each match.
- Responsible for ensuring players and staff follow league rules and protocols regarding equipment regulations
- Assist with accommodating visiting team equipment requests as the home team.
- Assist in preparation of all field equipment to the field prior to warm-up.
- Organize and clean up the team bench and locker room areas, towels, equipment
- Available to travel if required
- Help perform heat transfers on team apparel to be training, travel, and match ready
- Assistance of transportation of team equipment in company van to and from the stadium and airports
- Pack equipment bags for all road trips
- Manage bag inventory for each department during away trips

- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
- Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekend and be on-call as needed
- Ability to drive and rent large vans and trucks
- Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a “team player” and flexible to constant changes.
Education & Experience
- Experience in a professional sports environment
- Experience using a heat press to embellish clothing and uniforms
- Experience with a vinyl cutter and related application
- Experience with inventory management software (i.e. FR Trac)
- Experience using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
- Knowledge and passion for soccer
- Must pass required background check and motor vehicle check
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to handle and lift average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent sitting, bending, walking, and standing

Location:
This role is based in our training facility in Leesburg, VA, with occasional work in Washington, D.C. The role is required to be onsite.
