The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students.

Job Summary
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) recognizes the importance of health and its relationship to learning and academic achievement. OCDE's mission is to serve students, schools, parents, and the community to promote optimal health for all. The OCDE Health, Safety, and Prevention team leads health education and prevention services that build the knowledge and skills of students to ensure their physical, mental, and social-emotional well-being.
We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to serve as Program Specialist, Prevention Partnerships. This role will support the development, implementation, and management of prevention programs and partnerships for school districts, in collaboration with community organizations; serve as a liaison to school districts and community agencies to coordinate prevention programs that improve the health and well-being of students, families, and staff, and provide assistance to higher level management staff.
This position is grant-funded through June 30, 2026.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in elementary education, public health, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible educational experience working with students, families, an staff in a school-base setting.
