Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in maintenance management, business administration, engineering or a closely related field, and at least six years of progressively responsible experience in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of wastewater facilities and systems, at least two of which were at a supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program.
Within 12 months of hire or promotion obtain and maintain one of the following:
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) Certification.
Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) Certification.
Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) Certification.
Possession of the following certifications is highly desirable:
California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Maintenance Technologist Grade IV Certification.
California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Electrical and Instrumentation Technologist Grade IV Certification.
Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) Certification
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Advanced practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of wastewater, recycled water and solid waste processing facilities, collection systems, electrical systems, process control systems, equipment, machinery and vehicles common to a large complex water system.
Practices, documents and terminology used in condition-based maintenance, predictive maintenance and root cause analysis and the performance of all preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment and systems used in wastewater and water utility infrastructure.
Principles and methods of effective maintenance planning and scheduling, inventory control and asset management.
Principles and practices of public administration, including long-range planning, budgeting, purchasing and maintaining public records.
Principles, practices and processes of financial and statistical analysis.
Safety policies, procedures and safe work practices applicable to assignment including OSHA regulations, confined-space entry, lockout/tagout procedures and NFPA 70E arc flash safety.
Applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations.
Principles and practices of sound business communication.
Research methods and analysis techniques.
Principles and practices of effective management and supervision.
The Agency's human resources policies and labor contract provisions.
