The HR Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing various projects related to one or more human resource functions. This role plans, operates, and delivers projects designed to improve human resource function for the organization. They hold a deep understanding of all aspects of Human Resources at the management level with the vision and drive to generate positive outcomes in as an efficient manner as possible. Additionally, the HR Project Manager monitors project status and progress, identify any roadblocks or issues, and implement corrective action plans to address the issue. This role requires exceptional leadership, organization, and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. The HR Project Manager will work with various stakeholders, including HR departments, senior management, and external vendors, to ensure project timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and oversee full-scope project planning, including strategically assessing business and stakeholder requirements.
- Manages and administers functions such as short and long-term planning, project design, project objectives, scheduling, organizing, coordination, and implementing activities.
- Monitors and provides status updates and progress reports. Identifies any roadblocks or issues and implements corrective action plans to address any delays or competing priorities. Ensures all milestone and project deadlines are met.
- Prepares accurate program descriptions, budgets, schedules, and work groups.
- Creates and implements project goals and strategies.
- Assists with short and long-term planning and design of project direction and objectives.
- Assists with administrative functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, scheduling and implementing project activities to meet objectives. Participates in writing of reports or other documentation of project status and/or administrative activities or project results.
- Conducts regular team meetings and assigns tasks to work group team members and ensures all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Researches, gathers, organizes and summarizes data for project and/or activities. Analyzes data, presents results and makes recommendations on presentations of project and/or administrative reports.
- Evaluates effectiveness of project direction, schedules, activities, etc. Recommends and implements project activities and/or modifications of project activities and/or schedules as necessary to ensure achievement of project goals and objectives
- Assists in developing and updating department project procedures and coordinates implementation.
- Analyzes information/situations, defines problems, articulates logical recommendations, and recognizes alternatives and their implications.
- Perform other duies as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field
- 5-7 years Directly related project management experience.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Working knowledge of word processing Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of project management software such as MS Project
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field
- Professional in Human Resources - PHR SHRM-CR or PHR
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00.
