Reliability Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a Reliability Engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to conducting reliability analyses on distribution systems on military installations. We’re looking for a Reliability Engineer who can use their skills to transform how the Department of Defense (DoD) views energy resiliency and how energy projects are completed with traditional military construction.
At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform the Services' installation energy portfolio. Our team is responsible for delivering energy resilience solutions, including carbon-free technology, to help the military move towards energy independence for its installations. That’s why we need you, a Reliability Engineer with specialized electrical software and data experience along with power system design abilities to help develop a new tool for the DoD to use to quantify its energy resilience.
On our team, you’ll use your technical knowledge to help model those systems and using your experience with site visits and mission owner interviews, you'll gather information for any potential resilience gaps in the system. You’ll directly impact the area of installation energy, which is defined as energy used by facilities and their supporting infrastructure. We’ll look to you to share your reliability engineering expertise through collaboration with a small team of project engineers, power systems engineers, and technical writers. This is a chance to use your experience-based knowledge in power and reliability engineering while broadening your skillset into areas like renewable energy systems and microgrid design.
Take on exciting challenges in the DoD with us as we support the military in achieving its energy resilience goals by delivering state-of-the-art energy solutions.
Join us. The world can't wait.

Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience with engineering software, including engineering design tools, such as EasyPower, SKM, or ETAP
Experience designing with energy generation technologies, including solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, geothermal, biomass, natural gas, energy storage systems, and combined heat and power (CHP)
Ability to perform electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, motor starting, generator starting, and harmonics
Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
PE License Certification in an energy-related field
Clearance:
