Sr. Mechanical Product Development Engineer
Position Summary:
Looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to develop industrial, rotary encoders. This includes the design of machined parts from aluminum billet, aluminum castings, stainless steel, steel and some plastics, along with the design of castings and rotary shaft assemblies. This product development position includes Project planning, 3D modeling, part/assembly drawings, coordination or creation of prototypes, validation testing, fixture design, certification compliance, BOM creation, report writing, production/manufacturing support and troubleshooting of legacy products.
This position will regularly interact with electrical engineers and other mechanical engineers to package sensitive electronics and magnetic components for use in harsh environments. These encoders are typically exposed to extreme temperatures, extreme weather, dust and vibrations and can be used in remote, or other difficult to service locations. Sound mechanical design is a must.

Education Requirements
BSME or MSME
Experience Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in similar industry.
At least 7 years’ experience with motor drives, power or control electronics, rotary encoders and/or rotating machinery.
Experience with a manual bench lathe and end mill will be a plus.
Basic understanding of terminology of motor drives, power or control electronics will be a plus.
Experience with rotary encoders or rotating machinery.
Design for Six Sigma or Black belt will be a Plus.
