The shift for this role is variable and can be days or evening (8 hours); must be able to work every 3rd weekend and 2-3 holidays per year.

Responsibilities:

• Interact courteously with laboratory customers and respond to telephone inquiries promptly.
• Collect blood specimens through venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick, while instructing patients on proper collection procedures.
• Demonstrate reliability, independent judgment, and adherence to safety protocols during specimen collection.
• Follow established policies for procedures, quality control, and personnel.
• Perform related clerical duties, including accurate data entry.
• Train new employees and inform technical staff of any issues.
• Perform arterial punctures and manage supplies cost-effectively.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Minimum 6 months experience performing phlebotomy is preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience preferred.
  
  Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) or equivalent certification preferred.
  
  Clearances must be dated within 90 days
  
  
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
