Pomeroy is seeking a Data Center Technician in Mayfield Heights, OH area.
Required Skills/Role:
Assessing patching requirements for server, network, and backbones
• Installing Patch cables as clients request, and routing properly and label them
• Whenever possible bulk patching work will be performed under one CR
• Connections included patching of server/appliance into appropriate patch panel, patching on patch fields, and/or SDF to switches.
• Includes forecasting and maintaining sufficient patch cables in stock
• Patched switch port details will be tracked
. • Patch cable troubleshooting or replacing patch cables
• All work will be performed under an approved CR
• Escorting and assisting Hardware vendor / service provider etc. (Incident / break-fix task)
• Checking or troubleshooting cables/patching tasks
• Power Cycling/managing power tasks
Maintaining an inventory of devices hosted in data center space. Producing a report including all data mentioned below, and other tasks as required by Client. List will be shared on demand or once in quarter occupancy information will be shared to Operations and reporting all e-Wasted devices
Supplier will provide Hardware Triage support services, consisting of OEM Standard Warranty Repair Services, Enhanced Warranty Repair Service, Post Warranty Repair and Out of Warranty Repair as applicable, for Devices.
Supplier responsibilities:
a. Provide a technical support Resource available on a Dispatch basis to those Rockwell Automation Sites indicated to receive Hardware Break Fix Support during the Hours of Support.
b. Troubleshoot Issues to resolve or Escalate to the OEM Third Party Supplier.
c. Process warranty repair claims through Rockwell Automation’s OEM Third Party Supplier ’s warranty processing system if applicable, in DXC’s discretion.
d. Test for functionality of the Device and network connectivity.
e. Obtain Authorised User acceptance of repair completion to close the Service Request Ticket; if a User does not acknowledge a repair after DXC attempts to contact the User to obtain acceptance 3 times, then DXC will deem the Service Request completed and close the Ticket.
Supplier responsibilities:
a. Provide a software support Resource to the Customer Site (where the Device on which the software resides is located.
b. Troubleshoot Issues to resolve or Escalate to Resolver Group specialists.
c. Test for functionality, network connectivity, and access to Customer’s infrastructure as applicable.
- Installations, Moves, Adds, and Changes (IMACS):
Supplier responsibilities:
a. Provide IMACD Services for properly authorized and completed IMACD Service Requests.
b. Respond to User questions on an IMACD Service Request.
c. Coordinate with Customer personnel and applicable Customer Third Parties concerning scheduling and requirements.
