Position Overview:
The Website Developer, Senior position will be responsible for developing new functionality within an enterprise content management system while enhancing existing websites in the same environment. The website developer position is part of a Creative Team here at Universal Services that will be working closely with both internal peers, project management staff, the Creative Team manager and county departments to craft websites and other front-end development projects. The person in the job will also need to be able to build front-end development for large scale county-wide applications. Job Duties:
Through research and collaboration, participates in defining and supporting best practices for development in an enterprise environment with focus on usability, creativity, scalability, and re-usability.
Performs web design and development work for medium to highly complex assignments.
Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting complex website and development problems to provide solutions to overcome those problems with the latest technologies. -Either from business requirement documents and/or from prototyping layouts, design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
Work with business stakeholders to define UI/UX and branding requirements for departmental websites and web applications.
Implement appropriate Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to websites.
Work to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Web sites in collaboration with graphic designers, product managers, engineering staff and other web designers.
Work with a project team of web developers, providing hands-on implementation of the UI design elements with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end development libraries.
Conduct user studies, design and perform usability tests, create prototypes, and provide ad hoc user interface consulting to developers and business stakeholders.
Contribute to the design group's efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization's online offerings.
Design and build interactive responsive websites on various web content management platforms entire lifecycle from inception to deployment.
Contribute to content creation and editing as needed for website delivery projects.
Work through department requests for enhancements and updates on their websites.

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Marketing, Digital Media, or similar.
Experience:
Five (5) + years of experience in website development.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Experience working with .NET, C#, JavaScript Libraries
Hands on coding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, etc. Frameworks such as Bootstrap, Angular, etc. are fine; however, the candidate must be able to write HTML and CSS from scratch.
Experience design building websites using different web content management systems, such as DNN, SharePoint, WordPress, etc.
Experience designing websites for SEO compliance
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma.
Expertise in working with WCAG 2.0 standards.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Must be comfortable recommending alternative approaches.
Must be comfortable working individually and on teams
