Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as assistant to the Dean of Students: processing confidential information, attending and taking minutes for meetings; managing the Dean’s calendar; maintaining a professional environment in the office through the use of effective telephone skills.
Serve as primary administrator for the Advocate software used for behavior, conduct, and reporting purposes.
Assist in general office administrative procedures and processes including but not limited to: tracking administrative deadlines and schedules; maintaining financial records in Workday, assistance in purchasing, room reservations, logistics.
Provide administrative support (Workday, room reservations, logistics) for Student Care and Engagement Work Group: Director of Community Life, Director of Multicultural & International Student Services, Director of New Student Engagement, Director of Nicholson Commons
Maintain records for communication between other departments regarding planning and scheduling. Attend and take minutes at appropriate meetings.
Produce and deploy evaluation and assessment surveys. Provide survey reports as needed.
Assist in maintaining information regarding Student Life & Formation on the University web pages.
Provide assistance in the Student Life & Formation reception area, greeting students, faculty, staff and visitors as needed.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required including supporting other Student Life and Formation offices and programs in rush periods such as New Student Orientation, mass mailings, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Supports the diversity and inclusion mission of Point Loma Nazarene University.
Provides responsible administrative/ clerical experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
High level of competence in utilizing software programs including: Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, Maxient, Workday, etc.
Self-starter with strong organizational and motivational skills. Ability to establish a receptive office atmosphere for students, staff, faculty and families who may come in contact with the office.
Ability to maintain good relations between students, parents, and other departments of the University and within the Student Life and Formation Office.
Must enjoy working in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
