Primary Purpose | The EA Developer I is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining enterprise applications programming code; data administration, integration and security and reporting at an entry application developer level. The EA Developer I is responsible for working under the principles of collaboration, communication, quality and team pride. The EA Developer I provides application support for University departments’ projects and work. |
Essential Functions | - Provides support to EA Developers, Systems Administrators and Project Managers in technical areas specific to the programming development, maintenance, tracking and development of Enterprise Applications systems and services, and projects to implement or improve them.
- Supports senior technical staff in business analysis and applications programming, project management and client support.
- Works with functional clients to develop specifications, test plans, and validation documentation.
- Supports senior technical staff in creating and administering production and test systems.
- Supports senior technical staff in managing and monitoring technical and business process/service improvement projects.
- Develops and applies general understanding to:
- EA systems and information architecture
- Data administration, security, and integrity
- Applications integration, middleware and portals
- Universal authentication, application authorization and security access models
- Tracks productivity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications | - High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in a customer service environment.
- Twelve (12) units of program development course work.

Preferred Qualifications | - Bachelor’s Degree.
- Knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL PLUS, or similar structured query language; Java, C+ +, or similar high level object oriented programming language; and Unix – Solaris, HP/UX, and/or Linux.
- Training or experience with Oracle 11g (or higher) or similar relational database.
- Knowledge of Oracle development tools, Ellucian Banner ERP, SQL Navigator, Toad, or similar, Luminis Portal or similar, Web Technologies including Apache/IIS/TomCat, Java Script, ASP/JSP, .NET, JEE, SSL, and Web Service.
- Ability to work logically through problems and develop optimal solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a productive team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Primarily office setting, AV closets and /or data center with exposure to noise and cooler temperatures. Work performed during standard business hours, occasional overtime, weekends, holidays and hours worked outside of normal schedule may be required to meet business deadlines. Travel may be required to other campuses, meetings or training.
Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record. |
Hiring Range | $25.87 - $34.28 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
