Job Summary
The Poway Unified School District is seeking applications for the 2024-2025 school year for a 60% Choir teaching position at Oak Valley Middle School.
Requirements / Qualifications
Applicants must submit all required documents to be considered, including a valid teaching credential.
Applicants should possess a strong, demonstrated, and robust pedagogical knowledge of appropriate methods of teaching beginning and advanced choral music. They should also have knowledge of the California State Content Standards for music.
CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:
A valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential - Music or other valid California teaching credential authorizing teaching Music.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
All required documents MUST be scanned and attached prior to submitting an application for this position. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
1. Applicants must have an English Language Learners (CLAD credential) in order to be considered for the position.
2. Copy of single subject teaching credential (Music) or other valid California teaching credential authorizing teaching Music .
3. Copy of Transcript (Official transcripts are required upon hiring).
4. Current resume
5. Letter of introduction, addressed to Charan Kirpalani, Director, Human Resources.
6. Three (3) letters of reference, signed/dated within the past 12 months. Applicants are encouraged to include at least one (1) letter of reference from a supervising or site
administrator. Applicants who have never held a full-time position are encouraged to have a letter of reference from a site administrator where they completed their student teaching.

TEACHER INDUCTION:
Poway Unified School District offers a teacher induction program to clear the CA preliminary credential to qualified individuals at no cost to the employee.
