What You’ll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.
Operate Equipment. Operate the distributor, water truck, and other equipment.
Maintain Clean Job Site. Shovel asphalt. Perform general cleanup around the job site.
Maintain and Repair Equipment. Keep records of material or equipment usage and problems encountered. Perform daily maintenance checks and report any mechanical or safety issues to a supervisor. Perform minor repairs to the equipment and assist in the general operation of each job site.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You’ll Need:
Education. Must have your high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience. Paving experience is preferred.
Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Ready to Drive. Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required. Hazmat is preferred but not required.
