Initiates action to obtain purchased/fabricated spare parts, assemblies, nonproductive supplies, materials or other various products from stockrooms, floor stock, line flow storage, accumulation areas, cribs or the aircraft, where it is required to exercise a knowledge of procedures, policies and documents relating to assembly line operations, material review booth, production control, order writing, material inspection, planning, material and spares; controls the flow of all types of items and documents to ensure the scheduled completion of items; accelerates the completion and movement of all types of items as warranted by Company or customer emergencies; assigns priorities in accordance with scheduling and production requirements and advises responsible personnel of behind-schedule status of items due to such conditions as part or material shortages, rejections, lost-in-shop items, engineering and customer changes or vendor failure to meet commitments; recommends and requests necessary authorizations to initiate item rework, material substitutions and scheduling changes in the solution of shortages. Reviews and verifies quantities of materials for accuracy.
Prepares all required reports and forms and performs other related clerical duties.
Requests transportation or handling equipment to transport materials to and from shop areas, loads, unloads, and moves materials as required, utilizing proper material handling procedures; operates state-of-the-art and conventional office and warehouse equipment such as electric forklifts, tugs and scooters.
Packs parts, assemblies, supplies and materials, properly identifies, and ships in accordance with Company, customer or government specifications and requirements.
Performs various material handling tasks in support of material movement that may require a single person and/or two persons lifting of small, medium, and large components compliant with safety guidelines.
Procures necessary blueprints, change notices, tooling materials, etc., to assure workability of orders.
Ability to obtain and maintain Company licenses, certifications, and training as required for assigned tasks as required by the Company or governmental agencies.

Experience with office and warehouse equipment such as electric forklifts, tugs and scooters, and hand tools.
