The Bronx clinic (funded $12+million) of the Hispanic Community Health Study is 1 of 4 national sites contracted by the government to recruit Hispanic Latino adults residing in the Bronx territory. Recruiters are required to bring in a total of 4,000 participants into the study. To do so, they must be physically fit (walk up/down stairs in non elevator buildings, carry a laptop and/or study equipment), communicable (various Spanish speaking tongues and cultural acceptances), computer literate etc.

List of Responsibilities – List and describe responsibilities in order of importance; adding as many as necessary to fully describe the function of this role.

· Interview potential study participants for selection into the study;

· Follow safety protocols which may vary in accordance with the weather, project activity and areas assigned;

· Assist in sourcing and recruiting a diverse pool of qualified field of participants by contacting community organizations, educational institutions, etc;

· Maintain petty cash;

· Maintain study database;

· Assist in the development of recruitment and retention strategies for participant enrollment;

· Review interview data for accuracy by fieldwork staff prior to submission to Assistant Project Director;

· Assist interviewers on door-to-door screening, interviews and recruitment policies, processes, practices and procedures when necessary;

· Assist the investigators with study related focus groups;

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

· Participate on local conference calls to discuss potential recruitment and retention strategies.

· Manage reports on study progress to present to Project Director and Principal investigators.

· Assist in the long term follow up of participants enrolled in the study

· Evaluate and screen potential participants to determine eligibility for several studies

· High School Diploma and at least 2 years of administrative support experience is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

· Must be flexible with work schedule (including weekdays, evenings and weekends)

· Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook. May use other web based programs as assigned;

· Must demonstrate good judgment, initiative and attention to detail;

· Ability to check applicable policies and procedures.

· Deals directly with individuals and groups, both internal and external to the College, ability to check the applicability of matters requiring knowledge of policy.
